Free staff timesheet template

A timesheet does two jobs. It's what you pay people from, and it's the only honest way to know whether the work you're selling is actually profitable — an hour on one job can be worth twice what it's worth on another.

This template records one line per day: the job or site, the start and finish times, the break, the hours and a note. Add the week's total, overtime, mileage, holiday and expenses at the bottom, and have both the employee and the manager sign it.

Writing down which job the hours went against is the habit worth building. Once you can see it, you can price the next one properly.

Knowing the hours is half of it — the job profit calculator turns them into a real margin per job, and the van running cost calculator works out what the driving between them is costing you.
